DPL T20 Cricket League Tournament

Punjab lions emerged victorious in the recently-concluded Dallas premier League cricket tournament. They outplayed CML Elite lions in the grand finale. The DPL League Tournament which saw seven teams taking part was conducted at the McKinney grounds, Dallas, Texas
Unmukth Chand, who was India’s, U-19 successful captain in 2012 when India defeated Australia was the hero of the final. The flamboyant Right handed batsman, who retired from first class cricket to play in USA entertained everyone with his fabulous batting display in the eliminator match and the finals. Smit Patel, his U-19 mate also performed to the expectations. Pakistan former player Najaf Shah led the team, also putting up a fine bowling performance. For CML Elite loins, Mohammed Farooq top scored with 51 as Elite lions put up 140 for eight in their stipulated twenty overs. Punjab reached the target with some many overs to spare with Unmukth making a scintillating 79. He was the man of the match winner. Seven teams participated in the championship which lasted for more than two months. The organizers did a fantastic job by organizing successfully. Unmukh who will be the first Indian to play in the coming big bash league in Australia had a brief chit chat with I Asia News.
